How to darken Hand Stamped Letters

What do I do if the darkening comes out of the letters?

You have purchased a hand stamped piece of jewelry and you may have noticed that after some time the lettering has begun to fade. No worry this is an easy fix and you only need a couple of things that you probably already have in the house.
There are a number of ways to blacken hand stamped letters but I will show you the simplest DIY solution step by step.

This is my keychain made of Aluminum (DOES NOT TARNISH), as you can see some of the letters have lost their ink. What does that mean? This means that metals such as brass or copper tarnish. So the hand stamped parts of your jewelry will darken naturally, but aluminum does not tarnish so in order to achieve the dark letter design we are using darkening techniques to darken the letters.

  • Permanent marker

  • Rubbing alcohol

  • Paper towel

Start by coloring in the stamped letters or designs of your jewelry.
Make sure that the ink has seeped into all the letters and or designs.

Let the ink dry for a few minutes, then lightly clean the ink off with a little rubbing alcohol and paper towel. Just be careful not to soak your paper
towel because you may remove the ink from the letters.

That’s it! It couldn’t be any easier;)

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by for our weekly post.
